Novice Level – Friday 9th October 2009
For beginners with no previous experience – the perfect introduction to fused glass with lots of fun!
In this introductory workshop, students will learn how to melt glass together with coloured glass mosaic components and create unique glass art to wear.
Participants will be encouraged to experiment with different techniques to create fused glass jewellery. (Four projects – glass pendants and/or brooches)
A minimum of 6 students (maximum 8) is required for this workshop. The small class size allows for maximum interaction, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Location: Höglund Art Glass Studio, 580 Whyanbeel Road, Whyanbeel Valley,
Tropical North Queensland, AUSTRALIA
Drive 40 minutes north of Port Douglas to Whyanbeel Valley via Mossman and Miallo. The studio is towards the end of Whyanbeel Road. Cross the Schultz Bridge and continue until you see the sign and the red flags on the right hand side. Please park by the side of the road.
Cost: $240 per student
Includes: – Basic glass materials, kiln firing during the night, bails and metal pins

Jewellery made during the workshop will be fused after the workshop and annealed in the kiln over night, polished and finished by Marie when cooled and available to uplift from the Sugar Wharf on Sunday. (or shipping can be organised)
